Oh my god. OH MY GOD.
Yeah, so Supernatural is fucking fantastic. Best mainstream sci-fi/fantasy show since X-files and Buffy. The whole first season is just...beyond brilliant. And "Devil's Trap"? I just stared at my screen at the end. I mean what a fucking explosive way to end the season. I even know how the season one cliffhanger gets resolved and I'm still on the edge of my seat.
It's up there with Firefly and BSG, just for sheer awesomeness. The characters, the realism, the fucking amazing soundtrack, the best and worst family dynamic in the world. I'm just blown.
And the intro to "Salvation"? Just put it into top favorite shows ever. And that's up there with West Wing, BSG, Doctor Who, Pretender, House, MASH, and the like. I'm just shocked at how the writers are able to sucessfully integrate monster-of-the-week with overarching plot with a great deal of horror cliches and good cop/bad cop leads AND still have it retain it's freshness, believability, it's je ne sais quoi that makes the show so fantastic.
I haven't been so excited to buy a show in years. The only other thing that comes close (for completely different reasons, of course) is BSG. Just wow.
