fic updates and plotting
Aug. 31st, 2008 07:32 pmSo I'm almost done formulating my Bob Byrar secret government soldier/psychic fic. Which is great news, cause once I've outlined it, I can start writing it. Anyone willing to beta for me?
But the bad news is (not really bad, just time consuming), is that I have a whole nother story that is pounding on my brain right now. It's the Jon Walker, Prince of Narnia epic that I've always had on the backburner.
But think about it! It's so cracky it could work! I mean, Jon's mother is from our world, and got magically transported to Narnia, where she eventually married King Pernian (or whatever), and has Jon (called Jonian). Eventually, they both get transported back to Chicago (where Jon's mother is originally from) when Jon is about 14-15, and he has to adjust. His mother pretends that she had to get away for a few years and Jon's father is from a small, rural European country (hence Jon's confusion at modern day chicago).
Jon spends a lot of time with music, getting high, and messing with photos, and hoping that some day he can go back to Narnia. Canon timeline enters, he techs for TAI, and meets Panic, and becomes their bassist.
Eventually, maybe during the cabin weeks, Panic and co. are transtported back to Narnia, where Jon discovers that 30 odd years have passed. He meets up with an old childhood friend, and finds out that is father is near death, and that his uncle (taking the fact that there is no heir), will assume the throne. Jon, of course, isn't going to let that happen, and heads off to Cair Paravel (gathering a crew of creatures along the way) to announce his return and reclaim the throne.
But can he truly prove that he's really who he says he is? And will Narnia back Jon or his uncle (who really isn't evil, but his advisors are)? Will Jon, now that he's finally adjusted to never returning to Narnia, really want to stay? And Will Aslan Ever Save The Day?

CAUTION, MAJOR LOL AHEAD!
Jul. 1st, 2008 05:59 pmMajor band LOL going on over at ONTD over Panic.
Apparently the bassist for the Jonas Brothers really liked Pretty. Odd., but sees Panic as the band that one loves to hate/hates to love (in regards to the makeup and Fever), and kinda rags on them for ripping of Sgt. Pepper's, calling the Beatles album the greatest of all time, but gives them props for at least ripping off the best.
Of course this gets on ONTD, and thus ensues the massive Panic vs. JoeBros debate, the majority calling the bassist out on how he's playing for a manufactured Disney boy band and has absolutely no room to talk.
The whole thing is pretty hilarious, go check it out HERE.

dana_shulps! I'M NOW ADDICTED TO JON/SPENCER!
ON A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT NOTE, I'M DONE WITH MY EXAMS BY TUESDAY, SO I'M GOING HOME FOR A FEW DAYS, BUT THEN COMING BACK UP ON THE 20TH, WITH A CAR. MAYBE I CAN BEG OFF EARLY SO I CAN GO SEE EMPIRES IN CHICAGO. ANYONE ELSE PLANNING ON GOING?

Personal stuff and fic ideas/updates
May. 8th, 2008 12:20 amSo my new meds have some interesting side effects, like mostly making me manic as all hell. I've been getting worse over the last few years, but I can barely concentrate on anything, I'm doing like 5 things at once, I can't shut my brain up, I can't sit still, and I have that freaking elated emotions despite the fact that I need to sit down and WORK ON MY FREAKING FINAL.
Man, this is why you don't give antidepressants to a bipolar person. But hey, at least I'm not depressed anymore. Hopefully going up on my other stuff in a week will help balance things out.
And my Bob story is becoming kinda cracky. It's sorta Dark Angel influenced, with super enhanced clones made by shadowy quasi-governmental groups, and genetic bullshitting, and Bob being totally awesomely psychic and genetically enhanced, and I'm still working on the whole plot, cause I'm not sure how I want this to all work out, except for a happy ending. I can't write angst for shit, and I'm too much of a softie to do too much bad stuff to the guys.
Oh, and I now really, really want to write a PATD and American Gods crossover, where Jon Walker is some kind of mythological creature/god, which would explain his awesomeness. So now I need to go through my bajillion mythology books and find someone that will work. They need to be related to the road/travel, music, mischief, and taking things as they come. I'm vaguely thinking something around the lines of Dionysus, although I'm not really sure who I want at this point. I'm really inspired by
lyra_wing's story "Dust in the Wind" though.

NEW ICONS, YAY!
AND MY LOVE FOR JON/SPENCER KNOWS NO BOUNDS. I THINK I'M MORE ADDICTED TO THEM THEN I AM BOB/FRANK, AND THAT'S SAYING A LOT. I'VE GIVEN UP ON PRETENDING THAT I DON'T LIKE PANIC AT THE DISCO.
Also, my mouse is on the fritz, and keeps locking up, which is the most annoying thing ever.
Two weeks left of school, and then I'll just be working and relaxing for summer. Which will hopefully free me up for concerts, hanging out with people, and working on that psychic!Bob story I promised Mandie.
Ugh, I still need a job for summer. Luckily there are a billion coffees shops, restaurants, and random stores in the area, so I should get at least one of the jobs I'm applying for, especially since I have both retail and food service XP.
Going to the Chamber Orchestra concert tonight. I forgot most of what they're playing, exept for the Brandenburg Concerto, which will be awesome.
EDIT: Anybody planning on going to the Milwaukee Warped Tour on august 1st?
