Musicsecret has inspired me to post some of my own musicsecrets, but without all the pretty pictures. Feel free to comment on this post even if you never do on my regular posts.
1. DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN - I definitely agree that more people need to listen to you guys, cause you're probably one of the most creative and kindest bands out there, but going on tour with AFI? Come on, it's like Dragonforce touring with Madonna. Both are great, but completely different music styles. No more, PLEASE?
2. I have never listened to The Academy Is, or Cute is what we aim for, or all those other bands in the line of P!ATD and FOB. Am I really missing anything, or are they all mediocore?
3. Wait, did the Libertines break up? Or did they get back together and then break up?
4. I don't really care for Led Zeppelin, or the Who, or Pink Floyd. Or most "great" metal bands pre-1983.
5. Prog ANYTHING fucking sucks.
6. Daft Punks' Discovery is better then Homework.
7. The 80's had the best pop cause it was all electronic. Imogen Heap and Sufjan Stevens just aren't as good. OK GO rocks my socks off though.
8. Dance-pop, Britpop, Trance, Drum n Bass, IDM, Industrial anything, Thrash, Speed, Gay Wizard Epic metal, Death metal, New-wave, Post-punk, goth (in the line of the Cure and Joy Division), hardcore (the real stuff, with more screaming then singing), grindcore, and random bits of punk, ska, and indie are the genres that I listen to. They have funny names.
9. As much as I like music, it's no longer my life. My life is my life.

Date: 2006-11-01 11:15 am (UTC)RE #3: The Libertines definitely broke up. Pete Doherty fronts Babyshambles now (when he's not in rehab) and Carl Barat fronts Dirty Pretty Things. But I think the guys keep in touch/occasionally perform together etc.
And I'm intrigued by "Gay Wizard Epic Metal" (I'm picturing Ian McKellen as Gandalf shredding on an electric guitar).

Date: 2006-11-01 06:18 pm (UTC)Awww, I'm so dissapointed that the Libertines broke up. Although I did hear something about Babyshambles, and considering Pete, I shouldn't really be suprised.
And Gay wizard epic metal? It's awesome. Go check out Rhapsody, Dragonforce, or Meltwizard, which is actually Final Fantasy emo. They even rip off Thursday. I actually think that Rhapsody had Christopher Lee in one of their videos.
