Saw Transformers last night. The movie is seriously awesome. I spent the whole time in a glee-induced fit, barely unable to move past thoughts of "OMG, OMG, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, STARSCREAM!! Robots! In Disguise!"

As you can tell, the movie is great. Beyond great, and not just cause of the nostalgia. Michael Bay finally made a movie that didn't suck. And it was a total Michael Bay flick, but Speilberg managed to add enough of his magic that it was seriously up in the list of awesomest action/sci-fi flicks. Pearl Harbor, this wasn't.

The SFX were great, but didn't overwhelm the movie, HELLO, ROBOTS!, Shia LeBoeuf is suprisingly turning out to be one of the better actors of my generation, and SAMANTHA SMITH was in it!

For the Supernatural fans out there, Samantha is Mary Winchester. I nearly squeed when I saw her, because hello, massive Supernatural obsession here.

But I digress. Go off and see the movie, and celebrate Independence Day, or a late Canada Day, or early Bastille Day with robots and Explosions.

As a note to all Americans on my flist. Go and read the Declaration of Independence, or at least some John Locke. I know that many of you are celebrating today, and don't enjoy reading philosophy in summer, but especially now, we need to remember just what America is as a country, and with government. We cannot forget that we must fight against injustice and tyranny not just around the world, but at home first. The government is here to serve and protect its people, but WE are also here to serve and protect what it stands for. Today isn't a day about celebrating our right to vote and worship whom we please, but is a day to remember that we MUST do what is right and just, even if it means the loss of friends, status, and even life. We are here to make the world a better place for our children, to provide the hope that someday, all peoples will be able to live in peace together, that everyone will be afforded the same rights that we take for granted. Remember that we should not fight because we want to force our ideas on others. We should fight, however, for honor, liberty of our peoples, and for those that ask for our aid, not for those that we assume want it.

Thanks you

That last paragraph wins at life.

Have you ever read "America The Book" by Jon Stewart/The Daily Show?

Really? I just started watching too much history channel and thinking, and that's what came out. Thanks!

And pretty lady, that book is my Bible. Except for the naked Supreme Court Justices. Eeeew.

I saw Transformers on the night of the 4th, and loved it. They did a very good job of keeping close to the original voices -- especially Optimus Prime. And I think I fell in love with Bee... odd.

And of course I love the part where the geeky boy gets the attractive smart girl. There is hope for geeks everywhere. One day a robot will land in my backyard....

So I'm an idiot and am super sorry I've missed your calls. I don't know what got into me, but I wasn't trying to be rude or anything.

I was actually wondering if you would want to go to the play at the High School Saturday or something. I'll call you tomorrow afternoon/evening-ish, k?

I'll keep you posted about the play -- for now I'm not sure, but I wouldn't mind seeing it. Oh, and I heard that your family would be hosting a Japanese student, is that true? My family is, and I'm in for "being the responsible adult" for the camping trip and six flags, so maybe we'll hang out then as well.

Don't overwork yourself, no matter how nice the green is ;)

Yes, we are definitely having a Japanese student! So if they ever want to hang, or something.

I'm going to the baseball game and Madison trip, cause I can only take so many days off of work, but I'll try to go to most of the evening stuff, fyi. See ya around!
